"Zoe and Tom were recommended to us by a friend and we loved having them photograph our day! They were with us for the whole day from getting ready in the morning til we danced the night away in the tipi! Neither of us love having our photo taken but they made us feel really relaxed and at totally at ease – as did our guests as we got some beautiful candid shots of all our friends and family enjoying themselves! The weather wasn’t particularly kind to us but Zoe and Tom encouraged us to brave the rain and go back out to the headland later in the day for some shots of just the two of us…they are some of our favourite photos of the whole day!"

Katie & Sean // Tipi Wedding, Anglesey

You can never rely on the British weather can you?! But Katie & Sean certainly didn't let the cold and rain spoil their summer wedding day!

Katie met Sean who is Australian when she was backpacking around New Zealand 9 years ago,  and they now live in Melbourne together which is where they got married. They then flew over to host the UK leg of their wedding on the isle of Anglesey in Wales. Erecting a tipi in the back garden of Katies family holiday home, a place which holds many fond childhood holiday memories for Katie.

We arrived in Anglesey the day before their wedding for a quick pre wedding shoot on the nearby headland overlooking the sea and it seemed like Kate & Sean had bought some of that Ozzy weather over with them! It was gloriously sunny and hot, check out how blue the sky was on their Anglesey pre wedding shoot gallery here: Anglesey Headland Pre Wedding Shoot

However in typical British style, the next day we all awoke to a cold cloudy day! They had planned to host the ceremony out on the headland and as so as the mist rolled in, the temperature dropped and the wind increased, it was touch and go if they should go ahead.  But it’s not everyday you get the chance to have a wedding in such a beautiful outdoor location so they decided to go for it! And it was more than worth it, the coastal cliffs and dramatic sea were a spectacular backdrop to their ceremony. As their guests huddled together warmth and the bridesmaids laughed as their hair blew in their faces, Katies Uncle conducted the blessing. He told the story of how they met followed by a Katie & Sean repeating the personal vows they made to each other at their Melbourne wedding.

The wet mist continued to blow in off the sea so the guests all ran inside the tipi, heated by the fire pit and dined on a Ozzy style BBQ which definitely warmed everyone up. We waited to see if the weather would pass for their couple shoot but it was showing no sign but Katie & Sean grabbed us and said let’s just do it! Braving the biting wet mist we headed out, Katie and sean climbing across the rocks and cuddling together to stay warm. They definitely embraced the Welsh weather and it turned out to be on of their favourite parts of the day and some of their favourite photos!

We loved being Katie & Sean’s Anglesey, Wales wedding photographers at their super relaxed, festival themed day. It was packed full of DIY, rustic and hand-made touches including bunting made by Katies mum and hand picked wild flowers and even the stationary was designed by the bride herself.
